I've made some modifications to the text; they are attached. In particular, I'd like to avoid discussing the why's of free software on the front page. It is a subject that is covered in much more detail in other venues. I'd like to get the new web site up and running as soon as it is complete. In the meantime, I've put a very simple Maxima home page at maxima.sourceforge.net directing the viewer to the project page and the mailing list. I think you can should put the site up at maxima.sourceforge.net while it is under construction, but don't make it the main page until it's ready. Thanks again, Jim
