building fail on redhat 7.2 with gcl 2.4.1

I think this is your problem.  Just built 2.4.1/5.6 without error on
Debian.  At this point in the build, cmpinit is not loaded in my
transcript.  See below.  Can you figure out why your 'make' wants to
load this file at this point?
