As I look at them, I think most of them are utilities and build script
helpers originally used when Dr. Schelter was maintaining maxima on the
original server. The only three which look more substantial are
mgnuplot, omplotdata, and xmaxima. I concur with Vadim that the rest
are no longer required.

I agree. Books seems to be related to the Netmath stuff? and Deliver
appears to have been used to make the installer for the Windows binary.
This is no longer needed.

Sounds good - my thoughts would be as follows:
call the new directory emacs
rename the old maxima mode to maxima-debug-mode
Figure out what the rest of the el files present there actually do.

Can't figure this one out except it seems to have code from gnuplot in
it. Maybe Dr. Schelter experimenting with plotting code? Agree with
removal recommendation.
