I assure you I don't take it for granted. ;-)
However, if a polynomial of degree 20 is involved, it might be a good guess
to say that applying l'Hospital rule 5 times is not enough whereas applying
it 20 times might work.
Just looking at the degrees of the polynomials might improve things... and of
course, it is not reliable for various more or less obvious reasons!
