Maple uses BesselJ
Mathematica uses BesselJ
there seems to be a pattern there.
Macsyma historically did not distinguish
between BESSELJ and besselj and so there was
a tendency to put _ as a word separator.
If we go into the brave new world of upper and
lower case, we might consider using BesselJ also.
%j is an attempt to be consistent with
%pi and %i.
I'd go with bessel_j myself if we must have
case irrelevance.
