Hi Stephen.
Judging by the overwhelming response you received earlier, not many people
who read this list have tried Maxima on Win 98.
I don't know any particular reason why it would not work on W98 per se.
Maybe it has something to do with the networking setup on that computer? If
the kids will let me, I'll try installing Maxima over the weekend on their
machine which has W98 and let you know what I find out.
If text only will do, it might be worthwhile trying to run saved_maxima.exe
from a command prompt.
