I've some time to do some of the code cleanups to xmaxima.tcl.
I have some bug fixes for xmaxima.tcl that I've checked in, but I'll
wait until 5.9 goes final before checking in bigger changes. I'll
break up xmaxima.tcl into more managable pieces, and make it so that
most of the files can be auto loaded; that should be transparent to
the build process, as for now the Makefile.am just cat's the peices
back together when it makes xmaxima.
It would be nice to get the freewrap build process integrated into
the Makefiles so that we can keep that under CVS too. as there
are some dependencies of the code on the build process (auto_path).
Could anyone who has done the freewrapping write up a little Readme.txt
and/or suggest how to integrate the wrapping proces into the Makefiles.
Testers wanted: if you download
http://starship.python.net/crew/mike/TixMaxima/TkMaxima.tcl
and use it as a replacement for xmaxima, you should see some
improvements. Could anyone with Tcl installed try this out for me
and post their impressions. I'd appreciate suggestions for what should
go into the menus.
Also, if anyone is running KDE3 I'd be grateful for feedback as I am
told there is a bug in TkMaxima.tcl, but I don't have KDE3 installed here.
Mike.
