As a supporter of Free Software, I prefer the gcl release, since it is
part of the Gnu project. But since maxima isn't part of the Gnu
project, that's a pretty minor point.
Given limited resources, I suggest the Maxima project pick one
"standard" lisp, and focus on making that work (I suggest gcl, but it
should probably be the one that involves the least effort across all
platforms). Other lisps should also be supported, but should not be
treated as "showstoppers" for releases.
