This is worth a little discussion - while I agree the Clisp people
deserve recognition that their product is being used, the Clisp banner
is rather spectacular (as ASCII goes, anyway :-) and kind of
distracting from the purpose of running maxima, i.e. to use the
program.
However, the point you raise is a compelling one, and there is another
good reason - I think it would be a good idea for the session to notify
the user what lisp is being used. Most people won't care, but for some
more intense applications the difference will matter. I proposed what
