Building maxima 5.9.0rc3 on Linux

Hmm. That's worth reporting to the clisp folks.

Yes, it should be listed. You can find out what the name is by using
the Browse CVS webpage, which will show you the contents of the cvs
tree. The one you want is gcl. (See below.)

You probably want to pull a clean cvs tree rather than try and update
an older tarball. If cvs is slow for you, you can ask Camm to put a
source tarball in the cvs directory on the download server. I'm sure
he'll be happy to help. It's a bit surprising the download is too
slow, though - are you sure it wasn't trying to update from 2.4.3 that
slowed things down?

Here's what I used to get my tree:
cvs -d:pserver:anoncvs@subversions.gnu.org:/cvsroot/gcl login
Password: <Just press enter here - no password>
cvs -z3 -d:pserver:anoncvs@subversions.gnu.org:/cvsroot/gcl co gcl

No problem. See if you can give the new cvs a try. That may help.
Also please don't hesitate to report any mathematical errors you
encounter - we need to know about them in order to fix them.
