I have a short program for doing Elementary Row Operations in Macsyma (not Maxima). I tried to run it on Maxima in a Windows 2000 machine but failed -- although it created a lisp file from the source file it could not execute. I am particularly interested in seeing if my program will run on a Windows 98 machine as well as on a Mac OS X.2 machine: Is anyone out there willing to try running my program? I have attached the source code (EROS.txt). [You start the program by typing in EROS()$] If you succeed and/or need help I would be delighted to know this. And I would like to know which Maxima and machine and operating system you used. I have a more sophisticated program that integrates Hamiltonian and Lagrangian routines along with symbolic solutions of autonomous differential equations. Once I can run the EROS.txt program I would try the new program out on my home machine, modify and debug it where necessary, and then provide it freely to the wider Maxima community.
