I'm afraid I'm ignorant about RPC mechanisms in the various Common
Lisps.  Do GCL, CLisp, etc. support SOAP, CORBA, COM, or even some ad
hoc RPC mechanism?

Can anyone point me to examples of interactions between Common Lisp
programs (ideally Maxima itself) and scripting languages (Python, Perl,
Visual Basic, ...) or standard programming languages (C, Java, ...)?
