Hi Wolfgang! It is good idea to commit your
SBCL patch right now. I've tried it and it seems
that SBCL support is in fairly good shape.
I package Maxima for ALT Linux distro and some
our users already asked me for SBCL support.
In general SBCL is a very good choice for Maxima
- it is as fast as CMUCL but more portable.
In particular CMUCL has problems with some recent
Linux kernels while SBCL works fine.
