There is no problem with it using emacs.
In my opinion. The better interface to texmacs is a real task. Also texmacs is
based on Guile/Sheme. Sheme is a lisp dialect. So for a moment it is probably
the best choice to support. The writing GUI from the zero is unreal task
within opensource, IMHO
