I think anyone who's interested in joining or initiating any
discussion whatsoever on Maxima should write to one of the mailing
lists or otherwise public places.
For example, the discussion on the topic in the subject line started
on the bug list (which is also where I replied to) and it's of course
ok to bring it to the main mailing list if somebody thinks that it is
of more general interest than just for bug fixing. But your statement
seems to imply that it might be pointless to contribute to one of
these lists because the discussion has meanwhile moved elsewhere to
some private place.
