Maybe we can do this instead - suggest the sourceforge forums as a
place for new users to head, and we can start paying more attention or
maybe forward forum posts to this list - I don't see much spam in the
forums, as a rule. I agree the spam has got to stop.

Personally I would oppose a moderated list in principle - shouldn't it
be easier to just kick off any address being abused for spam purposes?
Unless they start somehow autoregistering addresses I don't forsee a
major problem as long as the list is members only, and if we start to
use the forums properly we can have our cake and eat it too.
