Dimitri, I am currently working on some functions to load
matrices from data files. There is an initial version of these
functions, although CSV files are not yet supported, sorry!
But plain text files (with elements separated by spaces) are OK.
I will post a new version of the code today. If you'd rather
not wait, here is an initial version:
http://riso.sourceforge.net/maxima/read_write_data-0.1.zip
See this message also:
http://www.math.utexas.edu/pipermail/maxima/2004/006608.html
Be advised that the name of the code will change to
numericalio.lisp when I post the new version. Also the new
version will be hosted at http://maxima.sf.net/.
The existing code can read & write elements that are integers,
floats, rational (i.e., of the form int/int), and symbols.
I hope this is sufficient to make it useful to you. I'll be
glad to help, feel free to ask.
regards,
Robert Dodier
