If you use Maxima in an Emacs shell, just a point that might be useful to
note (maybe in relation with Stavros' remark about infinite loops with
Emacs/Xemacs shells?):
If one leaves directly Emacs with "File/Exit Emacs" while Maxima is
running in a shell, a process "winoldap" remains active and the PC can
freeze. To avoid this, one must first quit Maxima from the shell by typing
"quit();" in it (or click on the button "Quit" in the Maxima panel of
Rosetta assistant), and then leave Emacs with "File/Exit Emacs".
