Knives are pretty dangerous things for newbies to use and you can
still do quite a bit of damage. I don't know how you can make a
knife safe and still functional. :-)
You're only a newbie for a short time, so I've always been rather
opposed to things that make it easier for newbies but much, much
harder for experienced users. This, fortunately, isn't such a case.
So, changing the default is ok with me.
But the fact that commercial Macsyma still uses C/D says that it isn't
a big deal. People learn not to do things that hurt.
