Wes - are you using terminal font? Maxima's spacing assumes that I
think.
In theory, gtk programs can run on Windows. Probably would take some
work, but doable.

Doesn't need it, but it's harmless. Plus sometimes a small start
leads to bigger things. And I for one wouldn't be sorry to see the TCL
interface be replaced by a gtk one.
