Windows and Imaxima.

Hi Jesper.

With an older version of Maxima (old user interaction prompt) I'm trying to
get imaxima 0.8 going with the Windows GNU Emacs CVS build with image
support at:

  http://www.crasseux.com/emacs/

along with the latest Windows MikTeX and Aladdin Ghostscript 7.00.

The only problem stopping me now is that although Maxima starts in an Emacs
buffer, gs runs in the background, and the LaTeX code is being converted to
PS, the resulting EPS does not seem to be converted to a PNG. Emacs just
puts an empty image into the interaction buffer, and leaves a message:

   Cannot find image file
`c:/DOCUME~1/miketh/LOCALS~1/Temp/imaxima3884cSk/1'

Although the other files are present in that directory, the image file is
not:

$ ls c:/DOCUME~1/miketh/LOCALS~1/Temp/imaxima3884cSk
1.dvi 1.log 1.ps 1.tex format.tex mylatex.efmt mylatex.log
mylatex.ltx

I can get output from gs at the command line using 1.ps if I give gs
the -sOutputFile=blah argument. I tried turning on the broken 7.05
workaround but that had no effect.

Is there a simple test I can use to replicate the way imaxima is meant to
send data to the background gs for processing?

Cheers

Mike Thomas
