Ah - yes, I was initially confused by that too. As I understand it,
there are two parts to the process - #1 was the downcasing of the
source code, and #2 was the (more involved) part of fixing Maxima's
behavior when it came to case. The freeze was only needed for #1, so
we didn't get conflicting commits. Jim has slain that demon, so we're
back in business. I'm not quite up on all the technical ins and outs,
but it seems like Ray and co. are making good progress on #2 as well.

Very exciting! Looking forward to it once I get my home computer
operational again. (Probably in about four weeks or so :-(.)
