Yes. I removed the gamalg package from Maxima. For details see the
thread "status of gamalg" on
<http://www.math.utexas.edu/pipermail/maxima/2004/thread.html>;. The
first message in the thread is

We are in the process of updating the documentation. The online version
needs to be updated, as well.
