As far as I know there is no Italian translation of
Maxima documentation but you may be interested to see
http://www.itd.cnr.it/SoDiLinux/documenti/maxima.pdf
which may serve as short introduction to Maxima in Italian.
As for translation there are two tasks:
1. Translating xmaxima interface. Xmaxima is default Maxima
frontend on Windows. This is quite simple and I can provide
technical details if you are interested.
2. Translating Maxima reference manual. This job is more
important but rather voluminous. There is only one point.
At present we are trying to clean and rewrite original
English documentation. It is good idea to wait a few months
until English documentation stabilizes.
