Dear all,
I think Maxima has no implementations of the incomplete gamma and beta
functions, am I right?
And the Riemann-zeta lacks some values, as well:
(%i1) zeta(2);
2
%PI
(%o1) ----
6
(%i2) zeta(3);
(%o2) ZETA(3)
(%i3) %,numer;
(%o3) ZETA(3)
Do you know good maxima or lisp implementations of these special functions?
As long as I need them for my present work on probability distributions, I
ported two (double precision) algorithms from fortran to maxima: Applied
Statistics AS239 for the incomplete gamma and the Numerical Recipes version
for the incomplete beta. Although they work nice for my purely pedagogical
needs, I think they are not the best choices.
