Keith,
cvs -d :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/maxima get maxima
should get all of the Maxima source code (as well as add-on libraries, tests,
and documentation).
I don't think the cvs login command is actually needed.
I think you can execute cvs get, cvs update, etc., without cvs login.
If cvs asks for a password, just hit return (I wasn't prompted for a
password when I tried the above command).
