Clearly he must have, since Maxima works, but that still leaves us with
the special - unspecial declarations in the code. I'm wondering what
to do with these when trying to put things into packages - if unspecial
simply isn't working, then everything ever declared special in the
MAXIMA package is always special, despite the code (apparently)
thinking it has made some things unspecial. I'm REALLY hoping
everything isn't just accidentally working - are the unspecials just
left there as un-cleaned-up mess? Also, what about all the
interactions of these special variables? Will it be clear why special
was used in typical cases, or can this be relatively obscure?
An increasingly apprehensive,
CY
