emacs: loading code into imaxima process

Hi,

I have a file with some maxima code that I am working on in Emacs.
When I use C-c C-r to have the region evaluated by the interpreter, it
always starts up a new *maxima* process, even though I already have an
*imaxima* process running.

Is there some way I can get the region evaluated in imaxima? I find
the output a bit easier to read.
