thanks for working on this problem. i spent some time
a couple of days ago trying to figure out what is wrong,
and i agree the problem seems to be that "Function and variable index"
is not located. however, i was unable to determine why that is.
the regex looks OK and the file data looks OK.
i guess that suggests there is a bug in the way clisp
compiles the pattern matcher. maybe we should look for
a shorter example which shows the failure to match?
(e.g. edit contrib.info to contain just a few lines)
maybe there is a test suite for the regex code?
i'm sorry that i'm not more helpful -- at this point all i can
say is, yes, i've seen the same problem ....
