in the absence of advice to the contrary,
i have tagged version-593 in cvs and uploaded
source tar.gz, src.rpm, and binary rpms to the
SF file manager.

run_testsuite succeeds, plots work OK, describe works OK
when compiled with gcl 2.6.7, clisp 2.34, and sbcl 0.9.9
(all linux).
when we have confirmation that these files work OK for
others, and a windows installer, i will make a general announcement.
