Again-"Not connected to Maxima!" error

Maxima users group, 

 

I did the usual stuff to get Maxima for my PC running Windows Xp

            http://maxima.sourceforge.net
<http://maxima.sourceforge.net/>; 

            click on Download

            Went to http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php

            Click on Download

            Downloaded maxima-5.11.ob.exe

            Clicked on wxMaxima 0.71

            Typed in diff(x^2, x); in the input line and hit the input
arrow

 

Got message "Not connected to Maxima!" error message.  

 

Firewall was turned off.  

 

Any and all help on what I should look for (socket no???) will be most
appreciated.  I used Macsyma and want to try out this program.
