Well, if you want to pursue that, you are certainly free to do so.
I'm not in favor of it. (1) It is probably futile. (2) We can write a
good manual for Maxima without it. (3) On every point we have to
ask, "Is this equally true for Maxima as for Macsyma?" We may
as well save ourselves the trouble. (4) I don't like the Macsyma
manual anyway. It is written in a "War & Peace" style.

Yes, many thanks to Vadim as well. I know he has spent a lot
of time on the translation and many other projects within Maxima.
