Operations on inf

Which, if inf is to be treated as a number on which arithmetic can be
performed, is reasonable.

And we don't want 1 to be *exactly* 1 and 0 to be *exactly* 0?
Or should Maxima not have anything that represents 0 and 1, only
0-like and 1-like objects?
