If you want to run Java programs with Lisp, I understand there are
implementations of the Java VM in Lisp.
My understanding of the Java VM is that it is deficient in terms of
providing facilities for Lisp, and that a full implementation of Lisp would
be very inefficient in Java. (to quote their own project page, "intolerably
slow").
Perhaps what you should consider is: What features of Java do you really
want to use? Are they already in Lisp? Can they be loaded into Lisp as a
library?
If it is just that you don't want to learn lisp, you might consider just
getting over that by looking at one of the excellent books now around.
