Allowed mode declarations

The maxima manual (I'm using version 5.14.0) says under "mode_declare"
that a mode is "one of boolean, fixnum, number, rational, or float".
However Stavros suggested I use the mode "integer", and just three
entries down the manual the entry for "translate" mentions "canonical
rational expressions (CRE)" as a mode.  What is the official list of
modes I can choose from when making declarations?
