Hi All,
I thought of something that I could do. As soon as users received the ability to set the colors of points with the new draw.lisp they also received the ability to draw in 3d with a simulated light source and shading. I wrote two wxm files which are attached which show how you can do the drawing.
I have been thinking of ways to contribute to this project and so I thought that maybe I could do a new package "mac" file that can automate generating a lot of the code in the attachments (at least the code related to the drawing part).
If anyone thinks this is a bad idea please let me know.
Rich

Thanks for this link, I found it very useful.
I have commited a new version of package draw:
http://maxima.cvs.sourceforge.net/maxima/maxima/share/draw/draw.lisp
download and place it in your local share folder.
Use option enhanced3d for plotting the fourth dimension as described in
these examples, both for 'explicit' and 'parametric_surface' objects:
http://www.telefonica.net/web2/biomates/maxima/gpdraw/func3d/index.html#4dhttp://www.telefonica.net/web2/biomates/maxima/gpdraw/parametric/index.html#4d
(In general, I found that 'parametric_surface' objects and pm3d are not
good friends, and sometimes pictures are not very nice; this problem is
not new and at this moment I don't know how to solve it.)
I'll update the documentation (English and Spanish) next week.
Hope you'll find this useful.
