On attempting to download maxima, the following message was received.
Although I am not a member of the "crawling of SourceForge" crowd [see
appended message] the observed behavior whilst attempting to download
from SourceForge is new to me. Has anyone had similar problems and can
any one offer a solution. On the surface this is a source forge problem
but it appears to be unique to the maxima download operation. The
implication that traffic received from my site is over some cut-off
limit (as implied by message)is then difficult to understand since this
cut-off appears to have been applied to the maxima site only (at least
all other src distributions on SourceForge can be downloaded without
receiving lessons in poor sentence construction :-))

Following message received after attempted download:
"Your IP address is within our whitelisted IP address range, but you
have generated an amount of traffic than our threshold. This message
will be cleared automatically once your traffic rate per hour has
dropped back under the threshold we have established. This mechanism is
