log10.mac has a lot to teach me about rule based programming
in Maxima. The other examples (augmented_lagrangian and amatrix.mac)
which you point to in the thread <style and conventions>
are also on my study list, but they involve more advanced
programming devices like buildq(..), macros, and direct use
of lisp functions within maxima code.
I am still not conforming to your advice: "right parentheses stuck
together (not hanging) " but I will try to get comfortable with it.
