Same here. I compiled SBCL 1.0 by Clisp 2.3x (yes, it was a while ago).
I would say just go ahead and try it. YMMV.
I did run into a problem w/ running SBCL on my Fedora Linux box;
Fedora has some kind of memory protection scheme and SBCL doesn't like that.
But echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/exec-shield as superuser disables it.
Dunno if that applies to any other system.
