Compile maxima-5.16.3 problem

Hi,

At last getting up enough nerve to try & do the update.

I get this error message, which I do not understand (every thing looks
ok until the bottom (?), after a 'sudo ./compile' command:

:~/maxima-5.16.3$ sudo ./configure

Thanks much to any help anyone may afford.
