Yes, both in gnuplot 4.2.3 and 4.2.4 the label is printed in black.
The origin of the problem seems to be that new color features introduced
in the cvs version of gnuplot were back ported to 4.2, but not this one.
There is a work around for this, which is easy to write by hand, but
difficult to integrate in the internal structure of 'draw'.
I'll add a comment in the documentation, since the spirit of package
draw is to be compatible with the gnuplot 4.2 saga, not just with the
cvs version.
