Format Maxima Output

Hey, first post.

I'm interfacing maxima with ruby using the command line but it is difficult
to format maxima's output of :

 a
 ---
 b c

into:

 a/(b*c).

Are there any options to change how maxima renders its answer? Also are
there any good maxima forums online?
