The first style applies to the first plot, the second style to the second
plot (if any), etc.
Since you have only one plot, only the first style applies.
You can get both by plotting the list twice :
x : [1,2,3,4]$
plot2d([[discrete,x,x],[discrete,x,x]],[style,[points,4,1,6],[lines,1,2]])$
