excellent. Thanks for your help. I'll take note of that trick.
Could you please send me a copy of the two different versions of xmaxima
that you have in your system? (in private, because the list might not
allow large attachments). I'm still puzzled why the hack I suggested the
other day worked for me and not for you; your files will help me figure
it out.
