Is there a numerical ODE solver facility in Maxima

If you do write such a method, please try to make it agnostic concerning
the integrator. There are better integrators for hamiltonian des, like
yours, than the rk4 method (Leimkuhler and Reich's text is a recent
exposition). It would be nice to be able to use such methods, if and
when they are added to maxima.
