problems with Maxima in Ubuntu 9.04

Doug,

I can not reproduce your error. So what did you do?

By the way, just by typing in a series of 1s I found a neat prime number:

(%i1) factor(11111111111111111111111);
(%o1)                       11111111111111111111111
