I'm not sure what exactly you do to verify something, but perhaps you
should enter your data into a file and proofread it there.
Then load it into maxima.
I suspect that most serious users of maxima type any non-trivial
programs and data into a file, and use the commands to run/debug them,
and then go back and alter the files.
