Yeah, I guess it would help to put a brief explanation in
the (nonexistent) "Introduction to Simplification".

Well, examples are good but for the purpose of the reference manual
I think it's best to have the examples just clarify the text.
There should be tutorial stuff, but in separate documents; I think it's
beyond the scope of the reference manual.
