~ On a new quad pentium 64 bit machine I installed Ubunto 9.04. From the synaptic package manager I selected Maxima which installed normally without any special intervention. Stating wxMaxima I get: wxMaxima 0.7.1 5.13.0 Lisp GNU Common Lisp (GCL) GCL 2.6.8 (aka GCL). For my particular applications wxMaxima runs fine.
