Building Maxima on Ubuntu running in Sun Virtual Box

Yes you are right, I think.  The directories have permission problems.  I cannot copy files to many folders.  I am new 
to Ubuntu or any Linux so I am at the bottom of the learning curve for it.  I will try to provide more information as I 
try to figure this out.
